Does the money expire?
The distinction that matters is between the card and the funds.
The physical card carries an expiry date because the payment networks require every card to have one. When that date passes, the card stops working at checkout.
The funds are separate. The official Joker materials state plainly that the card expires but funds do not — you contact customer service to receive a replacement card with your remaining balance.
